Our History

Grove Contract Operating Ltd. was established on Nov 24/1994. Based out of Strathmore, AB, we specialize in Oil and Gas facility contract operations, Shallow Gas Well Testing, and Fluid Levels.

The Grove family moved to Brooks, AB in January 1995 when Bob became a contract operator for Seagull Energy at their Blackfoot Plant on the Siksika Nation. Very soon after, Enron Oil and Gas started drilling on the Nation where Bob looked after all of their oil interests, and Linda completed the production reports. The company started to expand as Enron bought out Seagull Energy's assets on the Siksika Nation. Bob and his family moved to Strathmore in October 1995 to be closer to the new opportunities that were being presented to us, where we have remained since. In 2007 we moved into our current office at 116 Orchard Way.

We branched out working for numerous oil and gas companies in Southern Alberta and has since diversified, performing various tasks to meet customer needs including: gas well flow testing, fluid shots, plant operations, oil operations, and lease maintenance.

Our three sons have all worked as summer students at GCO to learn the business and have went on to become full time employees. Joel, who became president in 2012, has taken on the challenge of leading the company into the digital era; and will continue to bring the outstanding service our clients in Strathmore and area that they have come to expect.
